Privacy Policy

The short version
Real Tap Tempo's core tools — tapping, microphone-based tempo detection, and the metronome — run entirely in your browser. Nothing you tap, play, or say near your microphone is ever recorded, uploaded, or sent to a server. We don't require an account and we don't collect the content of what you do with the tool.
Microphone access
If you use the "Listen with mic" feature, your browser asks your permission before any microphone access happens. Audio is analyzed locally, in real time, using your device's own processing — it is never recorded to a file, stored, or transmitted anywhere, including to us. You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your browser's site settings.
Data stored on your device
The "save to history" feature stores BPM readings in your browser's local storage, on your device only. This data is never transmitted to us or anyone else. It stays on your device until you remove it (via the "Clear all" or individual remove controls) or clear your browser's site data. We have no access to it and no way to retrieve it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic to this site — things like which pages are visited, how many people visit, approximate location (country/city level), and device/browser type. This is aggregate, standard web analytics; it does not include anything you tap, play, or save in the tools above. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone's prior visits to this and other websites.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
